Passports Services

Processing Time

The Australian Passport Office (APO) is currently seeing an unprecedented surge in demand for passports. As a result, the APO have been recommending its customers allow up to six weeks to get a passport.

Passports are printed in Australia and are sent to the Consulate for you to collect.  We are currently experiencing delays in the receipt of international mail due to COVID-19.

We recommend lodging your passport application as early as possible, preferably at least three months prior to expiry, to ensure any unexpected delays don’t impact your travel or visa arrangements in China.  Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions.

Proof of address will need to be provided at your passport interview.

No Glasses

Passport photos must be taken without glasses.

More details are available on the Passports webpage.
